Our Mistake, Aryans Not Supporting Obama in '08

In January of this year, we reported that the Aryan Nation, in a suprise move, came out and endorsed Obama as the best candidate for President, despite his color. This week in the news, we've seen that the Aryan Nation apparently is not endorsing Obama/Biden, after all. And just when you thought we were one step closer to realizing a Costelloian level of peace, love and understanding!

Ents Still Undecided on Obama vs. McCain

At this point, realclearpolitics shows Obama/Biden leading 286 over McCain/Palin 158 with 94 electoral votes still up for grabs in toss up states. For those of you keeping score at home, realclearpolitics is not an outlet of the Liberal media, if you are unfamiliar with it. Though Pfft, Science! actively encourages readers to hold to the conviction that if realclearpolitics gives Obama the lead, then it clearly is left-leaning. After all, doesn't fair and balanced coverage mean that any two positions are equally legitimate?

One group of voters both campaigns would like to win the endorsement from is still very undecided, however. The Ents said this week in a seven hour interview with Pfft, Science! that they are leaning toward voting Democratic now that they have come to the conclusion that the reasons given by the Bush Administration for invading Iraq proved less than compelling. But they are still unwilling to pick Obama or McCain at this point, as they are still in deliberations to decide which party has a better plan regarding the current financial crisis.

McCain Takes Heat from Lynch Mob for Being Respectful

I saw a couple clips this morning on Meet the Press of McCain speaking at some of his rallies. The audience was really ugly, booing McCain when he told a man that Obama is essentially NOT a terrorist, Commie liberal bent on making the United States a nation led by Cobra (the terrorist organization, not the health insurance company). On another occasion he took the mic from a grossly misinformed woman who was spewing that Obama was an Arab Muslim. I took a moment today to find a link for more of the details. I give McCain props for the way he conducted himself at these rallies. Sure people can say that he helped instigate it in the first place with the Ayers ad. Others have said McCain and Palin stood idly by while audience members have shouted, "Kill him!!!" Though, in fairness, I've listened to those videos online several times, and I can't hear the shouts clearly. But I really don't even want to get into another argument about blame. My point is it was good to see John McCain trying to reset some of the tone of the campaign.

Let's just make one thing clear...

...if at any point over the last decade or so, you voted for a Republican candidate for national office, you're as much to blame for the current financial crisis that we're in as anybody on Wallstreet.

You dumb fucks that thought George Bush was one of you or thought he would be great to have a beer with have fucked us all. At best, we're stuck with a 10 trillion dollar debt and economic recession for the next two years. At worst, our currency will be totally devalued in a few months and we'll be reduced to absolute social chaos.

Obama gives me a lot of hope, for what it's worth...but these fuckers at the McCain/Palin rallies scare the hell out of me...I realize they're a small minority and that they're pretty clearly pathetic losers (my wife and I would love to go to Obama rallies...but we have JOBS to go to!)...but I greatly fear an outbreak of violence when he gets elected.

If Obama manages to fix things, will these people ever even admit it? I remember both my grandmothers, who grew up in the Great Depression, still had great vitriol for Franklin Roosevelt even though it was his leadership that pulled us through the Depression and WW2.

I digress, though. I just want to send a hardy and heartfelt thanks to the uneducated, ignorant-and-proud "Mainstreeters" that opened the door for this mess.

How Much Change Can You Take?

This is a crazy ass email I received the other day. Can you say "selective truth." Note that the graph showing the cause and effect of a lack of pirates and increased global warming wasn't part of the email, but the logic in the email really reminded me of that.

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars,taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low - $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ....REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS. AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!! JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

Americans Defend Literary Ignorance

A Frenchman (pfft, the French) has won the Nobel Prize for literature. This comes after Nobel committee member, Horace Engdahl, ignited contoversy days ago with this inflammatory statement:

"The U.S. is too isolated, too insular. They don't translate enough and don't really participate in the big dialogue of literature," Engdahl said. "That ignorance is restraining."

However, American lit scholars were quick to come to the defense of why it's hard for American writers to keep up with so much literature coming out of Europe. You have a bunch of tiny countries that are hard to tell the difference between. Can anyone tell me the difference between Holland and the Netherlands, for instance?

One scholar mentioned a lack of maps doesn't do Americans any favors in knowing what's going on with the lit scene overseas:

“I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don’t have maps..."

It's pretty easy for someone in England to participate in what's going on in French literature because, well, the countries are about as far apart as taking a Sunday ferry from Michigan to Illinois. It'd be pretty easy for us to keep up with things if we only had to look as far as Canada, Texas, or Mexico. But we all know how the Europeans like to wag their skunky tails at us ignorant Americans!

Republicans Wield Red Lightsabers

thez0rk and I were having a little fun talking about this subject. As we've all seen the last few elections, the media (which is Liberal, of course) has christened Dems as blue staters and Republicans as red, which is actually quite appropriate when we look at the Star Wars mythology.

Karl Rove once went on record stating that, "When I went to work as an advisor for George W. Bush in 1978 to win a seat in the Texas Congress, the first lightsaber I constructed was red. I had just seen A New Hope the year before and really liked Darth Vader's lightsaber. Plus I identified with Vader in other ways."

As for the third parties, Libertarians get purple lightsabers, and Greens use, well, green lightsabers.

Starfleet Promotes Aerosmith Members to Admiral

I'd say it's about time and long overdue. When I think of the most talented musicians of any band in the last 40 years, Aerosmith instantly comes to mind. Songs like "Rag Doll," "Janie's Got a Gun," "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," and "Angel," to name a few, rank among the most memorable songs of my lifetime. Finally Starfleet has recognized this fact, too, and honored Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer with the most esteemed rank Starfleet has to offer: Admiral. Congratulations, guys!
